Women’s premier League 2023 Auction date is out: The BCCI had announced recently for auction of women’s players in the upcoming Women’s Premier League. The Auction will be held on the 9th of December 2023 in Mumbai.

WPL Players Auction announced
The highest governing body of cricket in India known as the Board of Control for Cricket, announced the date of the Auction of players for the Women’s premier league which is to be held on the 9 December in Mumbai. The competition seems to be held in the next year in the month of February- March 2024. The BCCI has not announced the official date of the competition yet.
The women’s Premier League consists of 5 different leagues with a total number of 60 players and 21 are international cricketers. And 29 players have been released by their franchises. It is interesting to know that, some of the well-known players from the world will be participating in the event including South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail, Australians Megan Schutt, Georgia Wareham and Annabel Sutherland, England’s Sphoea Dunkley and Ashtapaillu Dan van Niekerk. However, the BCCI has set guidelines for every Franchise not to spend more than Rs 13.5 crore on players’ salaries.
Meanwhile, WPL held all five leagues last month and released the list of all its players. Gujarat Giants has shocked the cricketers and the world by releasing 11 players including English star Sophia Dunkley and Australians Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth, and Georgia Wareham.
Last season’s runners-up Delhi Capitals have retained most of their league positions. Tara Norris, Jasia Akhtar, and Aparna Mandal, or three players have left.
