Mawlai sc vs Rangdajied Unite : Shillong Premier League title 2023
The SSA Stadium was packed for the eagerly awaited game, with Mawlai supporters making a statement with their bright yellow flags. From the moment the first whistle blew, the atmosphere was electric and the activity on the pitch did not let up.
Despite missing the semi-finals due to injury and questions being raised over his fitness for the championship game, Donald earned a place in Mawlai’s starting lineup.
He was a dangerous man, but he had enough space to shoot into a corner without troubling the opponents, and it was his sixth goal of the year. With this goal, he is now behind only Shillong Lajong’s Debormem Tongpar in terms of scoring this season (8 goals).
Demki Khongstia and Wanlamsuk Nongkhalaw were the two attacking changes made by Rangdajid in an attempt to rally behind Mawlai in the second half.

When Demki hit a cross in the 78th minute, Vanlam was out of reach, so the two were involved together. Mawlai custodian Siwel Rimbai was directly behind to blast an effort into the wall shortly after Abiangmame Nongneang was awarded a free kick.
The fourth official added seven minutes of stoppage time, during which RUFC almost missed an equalizer. In response to a cross, Wanlamsook stepped forward and beat Sewell with a header which hit the crossbar and fell off. Although the assistant referee was in an ideal position, play continued until the final whistle a few minutes later, despite the number 11 believing he had crossed the line.
SSA’s football tournament to a highly successful conclusion. The 2024 season will soon begin with the lowest level of the pyramid, the fourth division.
