Aizawl FC defeated TRAU in I-league 2023 as they played on the wet surface in West Bengal at Kalyani Municipal Stadium on Thursday at 7 PM. Despite Aizawl FC players playing on the slippery and wet playground, they got 3 points by defeating TRAU by 5-1. Aizawl FC moved to the 5th position in the I League Table with 14 Points from 8 Matches while Triddim Road Athletics Unions known as the Red Python from Manipur remained in the last in the League Table with one point from the 8 matches.
In the first half of the game, it seems the players find it difficult to balance themselves on the wet surface as the rain continues to rain. But they slowly made a difference when TRAU scored in the early minute of the first half. In the 13 minutes, Robin Singh was able to put the ball inside Aizawl’s net. It is too early for TRAU to celebrate as Lalrinzuala is able to equalize in the 16th minute. Again Lalrizuala converted another from the Penalty in the 23rd minute after a TRAU Player brought Aizawl players inside the box. Both the team tried to find another goal but they failed to find it as the first half ended 2-1 in favor of Aizawl FC.
In the second, TRAU lost control over the game after conceding its own Goal in the 51st minute. TRAU players failed to regain position as Aizawl FC scored another goal in the 53rd and 57th minute by Jeo Joherlina. TRAU regained the position and tried to find a way to score 4 goals deficit but they failed as the defenders of Aizawl defended well.
With this big win Aizawl FC equipped themselves to encounter Shillong Lajong FC on 10 December in Shillong. Win against Shillong Lajong, Aizawl will place itself in the 2nd position in the Table. While TRAU will face Inter Kashi on the 10 December at 4.30 pm.
